Position SummaryThe role of IT Enterprise Architect (EA) is to operate and strategize at the enterprise level to help design the processes, technology and data that can help the business attain their goals effectively and efficiently. The EA will also help guide investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. This role will be a key input into the design and planning for the planned migration to a modern ERP platform. This position requires the ability to work with all levels within the organization as well as partnering with vendors and solution providers outside the organization.This position reports to the VP IT, Chief Information Officer(CIO) and will interact with IT technologists as well as senior management team members and Executive Leadership across Tennant.
ResponsibilitiesStrategy and PlanningParticipates in IT strategy planning activities, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of infrastructure technology and systems and best practices as related to the needs of the business.Able to define and articulate an enterprise vision of architecture and the associated business value.Provides overall direction, guidance, and definition of IT architecture to effectively support the corporate business strategy.Leadership and management of an Architecture Review Board to ensure that solutions are compliant with target-state architecture models.Aligns architecture strategy with business goals.Defines, explains, and advocates technology strategy.Develops and communicates architectural policies, standards, guidelines, and procedures.Partnership and Collaboration with other IT Teams to assist in the enablement and success of the business. -Partner with IT leaders in locations across the globe to align infrastructure and operations direction.Build successful stakeholder relationships with other Tennant leaders by developing a clear understanding of business needs and ensuring cost-effective delivery of IT services to meet those needsRecommend, customize, and implement IT solutions across enterprise to best meet business objectives and drive consistency, simplification, and collaboration.Team & Administrative Management

• As needed, provide oversight and guidance to architecture team members either direct or via dotted line reporting. Can include the recruitment, development, and maintenance of an architecture staff.
• Defines the skills, competencies in the skills, and talents for architecture team members, and works with human resources to acquire staff.
• Responsible for the overall training and development of the architecture team members.
• Develop and lead a high performing technology organization with focus on all areas of IT Architecture.
• Assists in establishing metrics, key performance indicators and service level agreements for driving the performance of IT service delivery.
• Input on business continuity and recovery of company's information systems, including needs analysis, design, plan, implementation and documentation.
• Helps manage IT's operating budget to help keep the organization on-track.
• Acts as an escalation point for complex and urgent operational issues.
• Focus on continuous process improvement and user experience by increasing IT's value through innovation and emerging technologies, leveraging cloud and other technologies to improve performance and redundancy capabilities while optimizing cost effectiveness
• Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
• Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
• On-going management and measurement of vendor success
  Qualifications:
  • 15 or more years of IT and business/industry work experience including architecture design and deployment, systems lifecycle management, and infrastructure planning and operations.
  • 10+ years business experience driving IT transformational change while in a senior leadership role for a global enterprise
  • Leadership experience in managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams or projects, and influencing senior level management and key stakeholders.
  • ERP solution and implementation experience. SAP Preferred
  • Experience defining and rationalizing KPIs/metrics in driving measurable improvements tied to EBITDA1 impacting results
  • Experience managing others directly and/or indirectly through mentoring, coaching and persuasion
