We are seeking a Lead Production Support Technician - 2nd Shift for our Eden Prairie Plant. E.A. Sween is an Equal Opportunity Employer --- Minority/Female/Veteran/Disability Role Summary: The Lead Production Support Technician position is responsible for efficiently coordinating the maintenance resources and working closely with Operations to build a collaborative culture and building a strong well-rounded maintenance team Essential Competencies of the Role (3 --- 5 Primary Areas): SAFETY Demonstrate a solid understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for the various areas of the plant. Including bringing equipment, tools, etc. Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace Demonstrate safe work habits by following all safety rules and general plant rules Wear Personal Protection Equipment: Cut resistant gloves, hard hats while in Production, or safety glasses and specific protective equipment-based task being done Successfully complete the mandatory E.A. Sween Safety quarterly safety training Technical Scope Display an advanced ability to manage time and perform self-directed work. Build documentation for in house designs and, or training purposes. Perform programming on VFDs and possess the ability to troubleshoot PLC logic. Provide training and assistance to Line Technicians, Production Support Techs and OPS personal as needed on all production equipment, participate in active knowledge sharing. Ability to work with outside vendors to improve current processes or find future process improvements. Display an advanced understanding and aptitude of mechanical processes and procedures while troubleshooting equipment Ability to use basic hand tools on the floor Identify mechanical issues and remedy Ability to perform mechanical repairs efficiently and effectively Display an advanced understanding and aptitude of electrical processes and procedures while troubleshooting equipment Using a meter to perform high level troubleshooting to component level. Replace/Program electrical components and complete complex wiring. Advanced electrical abilities Display an advanced understanding and aptitude of pneumatic processes and procedures while troubleshooting equipment. Ability to read schematics and interpret circuits design and component functions within the circuit Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic components effectively Display basic ability to use shop equipment Mill Lathe Drill Press Band saws Welder And hydraulic presses Help to build the PM procedures for all production equipment. Complete Work Orders in CMMS for all work performed in a timely fashion. Follow all aspects of the Maintenance Planning Process Use and help validate PM Job Plans Use Asset Essentials to create a Work Order Follow all aspects of the Parts Process Understand Storeroom Layout Parts Checkout process and expectations Using Asset Essentials (parts lookup, part requests etc.) Use Redzone at a high level to communicate with fellow co-workers and cross functional teams Must maintain good attendance, GMP and Safety records MAINTENANCE MANAGEMENT Coordinate day to day administration of maintenance tasks, work orders, scheduling and parts using Asset Essentials (CMMS) Work with Maintenance Planner to understand prioritized list of work orders scheduled, update PM---s and make other improvements as needed Work with Parts Coordinator to order parts and make improvements as needed Work with Supervisors and Maintenance team to rotate people through the Shop to effectively and efficiently complete work orders Actively manage the Work Order Process Must be able to handle multiple priorities/tasks at a time and be used to working in a fast-paced production environment where downtime costs money Understanding of Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Planning and ability to use these tools to drive a reduction in line downtime and mean time between breakdowns Ability to write SOPs and training documentation from a technical perspective Understand and be able to take action based off department KPIs OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT Monitor, interpret, and make decisions based on information delivered through Red Zone Operations Management system (Red Zone Champion) Check email throughout the shift to stay in contact with internal/external resources Work closely with Operations and update them on status of repairs, downtime, etc. CMMS CHAMPION Fully leverage the CMMS to complete work orders, check out all parts, create work orders, etc. Ensure Maintenance Team is fully leveraging the CMMS Leverage CMMS application Provide training as needed Continuous Improvement Understand general principles and goals of EAS Continuous Improvement/LEAN program Lead internal projects designed at reducing manual labor processes and delegate to department team members Take an active role in new equipment design/install projects Be willing to participate in any company mandated or recommended training to grow skills within given scope of the role Required Qualifications: Have good communication skills Be proficient at Microsoft Word, Google Drive and Outlook Ability to manage time and workload efficiently and independently Highly proficient at electrical troubleshooting and logic processes High level understanding of pneumatic components and circuit design Maintenance activities are conducted in a food safety certified environment so previous food experience is strongly preferred. Must have been a power user in a CMMS in current or past roles Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be highly motivated and willing to work in a fast pace environment Must be able to work well with various levels of employees and diverse cultures > 40% of shift spent in refrigerated production rooms under 50--F Some overtime is expected in the role Ability to life > 75Lbs. on occasion COVID-19 considerations: To keep our employees and guests safe, we have implemented temperature/visual screening upon entry, have face masks available upon request and are sanitizing work stations daily.
