Optum is seeking to fill the position of VP of Content, Design and SEO for the .com Team. As a member of the .com leadership team, this role will lead a multi-disciplinary team of managers and individual contributors that are tasked with the development and management of key digital properties for Optum and its sub-brands, used for business prospect acquisition, retention, and cross-sell/upsell with a focus on both the B2B and B2C audiences






The Head of Content, Design, and SEO will be responsible for overseeing the development, creation, and delivery of engaging and high-quality content across various digital channels. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) and user experience (UX) design and will be able to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content and design strategy that supports business goals and drives engagement with target audiences. Primary Responsibilities:





  • Own and direct the content, design, and SEO function for pre-authenticated (upper funnel) websites across the enterprise and all business units

  • Develop and execute a content and design strategy that supports business goals and resonates with target audiences

  • Oversee the creation and production of high-quality digital and traditional content, including writing, infographics, video content, and more

  • Ensure all content is optimized for SEO, including the use of keywords, meta descriptions, and header tags

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and design, to ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all channels

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and advancements in SEO, UX design, and content creation to continuously improve the company's approach

  • Manage a team of content creators and designers, providing mentorship, coaching and professional development opportunities

  • Analyze the performance of content and design initiatives and use data to inform and adjust future strategies

  • Represent the .com Team and overarching strategy to key stakeholders across the enterprise

    Required Qualifications:





    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, design, or equivalent experience

    • 6+ years of experience in content creation, SEO and UX design

    • 6+ years of experience with SEO best practices, including keyword research and optimization, backlink building, and technical SEO

    • 6+ years of managing a team of content creators and designers, and providing mentorship and coaching

    • 6+ years of experience with data analysis and the ability to use data to inform content and design decisions

    • 6+ years of experience identifying target audiences and building website experiences that inform and motivate users to move through the acquisition funnel

    • 6+ years of experience optimizing and testing websites, landing pages, and the user funnel with expertise in conversation rate optimization








      Preferred Qualifications:





      • Knowledge of the following: Adobe Analytics; Adobe Experience Manager; YEXT; Screaming Frog; Figma

      • Impeccable communication skills with C-level executives

      • Proven self-starter with minimal direction required to execute on work and lead a team

      • Demonstrated ability to influence through expertise and credibility

      • Demonstrated ability to lead organizations with several layers of management (managers of managers) and developing team skills

      • Demonstrated able to work within an ambiguous environment while working towards achieving organizational goals

      • Demonstrated able to, "think on one's feet," to solve complex problems and think critically with limited information

      • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

      • Proven solid project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams to achieve business goals

      • Demonstrated able to set a vision and strategy for the team that aligns with that of the organization and execute on those objectives

      • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders with solid perspectives

        California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $142,300 to $273,200. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
