The studio focuses on becoming a member's "partner in life" and help manage their chronic conditions, prevent disease and support lifestyle behaviors so all UnitedHealthcare members can live their healthiest lives.   • In collaboration with the studio lead, develop a product and service vision and strategy to engage members in their health and well-being
  • Lead translation of research insights into intervention design strategies and product/service components through behavioral change tactics that make it easier for member to engage with us for their health and wellness
  • Use frameworks such as the Behavior Change Wheel (COM-B) or intervention mapping, and applying theories such as the Self-Determination Theory of Motivation to design interventions
  • Apply behavior economics, psychology and sociology principles to our design, communications and content experiences -
  • Establish appropriate outcome measures and change objectives
  • Engage and align strategies with a broad range of internal business stakeholders using visual storytelling
  • Conduct qualitative research as needed grounded in the context of the people for whom we are designing -
  • Conduct quantitative research as need that obtains statistical significance -
  • Articulate the rationale for using one research method over another -
  • Use creativity and resourcefulness to tailor research and testing according to project constraints -
  • Be passionate about healthcare, social impact and great design
  • Be familiar with the human-centered design process and the role research and behavior change design can play throughout -
  • Have ability to navigate large data sets and "connect the dots" among the insights they yield across complex systems -
  • Create frameworks, exhibits, videos, and presentations that visualize findings -
  • Conduct remote research and collaborate with a distributed team -You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:
    • 10+ years of academic or professional Behavioral science and/or design research -
    • 8+ years of experience designing and conducting research to understand a problem space and population(s) through the lens of a behavior change framework
    • 8+ years of experience developing logic models, theory of change, or causal diagrams to visually communicate complex problems and/or intervention logic
    • 5+ years of experience at skillfully translating research findings into intervention strategies and then into design concepts and product/service components
    • Solid portfolio of behavior-change design and communications -
    • Exemplary oral and written communication skills with an ability to translate complex concepts to non-expert audiences like clients, research participants, or webinar/conference attendees as well as suitable for executive leadership level -
    • Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities -Preferred Qualifications:
      • Master's or Doctorate degree in Social or Behavior Sciences, Public Health, Psychology, Behavioral Economics or other related field -
      • Experience working in healthcare or in an environment where formative and summative evaluations are part of the process
      • Proven track record of driving change in a large, complex matrixed environment even amid ambiguous circumstances -
      • Bias toward action and innovative big-picture thinking while improving processes and optimizing operations -
      • Willingness to invest time to understand our target markets, and consumers, and demonstrate a willingness to change course -
      • Ability to shift seamlessly from vision to strategic to tactical -Total Compensation. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100.
