Route Planner Eden Prairie, NM

• Will be working from home.
• Hours may vary - typical shift is 8:00am-4:30pm M-F
• May be required to work on weekends occasionally. PURPOSE:
  • Drive delivery efficiencies using routing software to optimize fleet utilization and cost. Provide exceptional customer service through planning optimal routes and meeting customer commitments. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Responsible for efficient processing of daily routes and special deliveries for regional DC's utilizing RoadNet .
    • Maintain daily routing processes and procedures.
    • Validates all orders drop into RoadNet.
    • Analyzes routes for efficiencies.
    • Review routes for max cube and potential route reductions.
    • Plan backhauls in most efficient manner and communicate them with DC.
    • Ensure all routing is DOT compliant.
    • Releases routes to warehouse for batching.
    • Perform to expected level of router KPI's to be determined by Management.
    • Additional work as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education/Certifications: (Preferred)
      • Associate degree and/or equivalent related experience. Experience:
        • Related experience preferred
        • Transportation experience preferred Knowledge:
          • Understanding of DOT hours of service guidelines
          • Strong knowledge of geography Skills/Abilities:
            • Understands procedures in other areas of the transportation department for a more global comprehension of all processes
            • Competent in Microsoft Office (excel)
            • Capability to meet deadlines
            • Attention to Detail
            • Excellent written and verbal communication skills PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT/DEMANDS:
              • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
              • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
              • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
              • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment during normal workday
