Description: Sr Capability Manager, Collaborate

PROJECT: Teams/O365 Voice and Cisco to Workplace 2025 video rooms. The incumbent will have accountability for establishing strategy and priorities for Clients Voice transition and executing the Workplace 2025 vision and our strategy to move from telepresence to cloud-based video conferencing that supports more than 1-meeting vendor solution. In this context Voice means the ability to call in/out with a phone number, headsets, desk phones, softphones, etc.

IDEAL BACKGROUND: The ideal candidate has Product/Capability background more than a technical background. We are likely to find a lot of people in Voice or Video Conferencing with deployment/project management experience. I will preference product owners over technical background - we can teach them about the tech.

TOP REQUIREMENTS:

a. Product Owner - 3 years

b. Agile experience - 3 years

c. Executive-level communication (ability to communicate and strong presence up to c-level) - 1-2 years

d. Voice experience is a nice to have

LOCATION: Remote

INTERVIEW PROCESS:

a. How many rounds? 1-2

b. Video vs. phone? Prefer video, phone is ok

c. How technical will the interviews be? This is not a technical role, I will want to go deeply into understanding how they work with customers, understand the market, set priorities, use data to help make decisions, etc

Team name = O365 deployment team. Approx 10 team members

What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position?

  • Build, groom and prioritize capability backlog(s). Create and groom short, medium and long-term capability roadmaps and get internal agreement with key stakeholders.
  • Act as a recognized voice of the customer to the team, on behalf of the business, and translates that understanding into roadmaps, features, outcomes and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborates with the Technology Delivery Teams to run successful Release Planning and Sprint Planning sessions, as well as Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.
  • Produce Features that provide business value, and are sized and defined for Sprint planning, and collaborate with engineers to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
  • Maintain the functional quality of the work being delivered by setting and evaluating expectations and acceptance criteria.
  • Establishes business value/outcome measures and metrics to measure effectiveness after release; monitor & report on progress.

Required:

  • B.S. or B.A. in a related field
  • Strong high-level knowledge of Microsoft 365/MS Teams
  • Strong knowledge of Agile development practices (especially Scrum or Kanban) methodologies and tools.
  • Direct hands on experience with writing features, grooming capability backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast paced, ever changing environment
  • 3 years Agile methodology experience, or equivalent experience
  • Outstanding technical and non-technical communication skills
  • Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority
  • Executive presence and adaptive formal and informal communication

Bonus, preferred:

  • 2+ years of capability management experience with MS Teams
  • Experience with Cisco Capabilities (ex, Jabber, WebEx, etc), M365/Teams, POly rooms or equivalent
  • Experience with transformation and organizational change management in moving to MS 365/MS Teams
