Equipment Customer Service Representative

Job Description:

Purpose

As a member of the Equipment Services team, an Equipment Customer Service Representative is responsible for executing all processes and procedures, learning all aspects of the business, and maintaining a strong customer focus. They receive, analyze, record, and process electronic/written communications, phone calls, and faxes. Requests may include general equipment questions, quoting, sourcing, placement of orders, status of orders, expediting orders, returns, or invoice questions. Interaction with UNFI field personnel, store managers, store owners, sales, store support offices, store team leads, internal subject matter experts, and suppliers to ensure customer requirements are being met. Fiscal year approximate sales volume is $2.5M+ per individual. Empowered to resolve and bring to closure customer inquiries and problems by using applicable information and tools while following guidelines of the department.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Maintains complex records
  • Responds to inquiries in area of responsibility
  • Collects data/information for department use in special projects or reports
  • Updates information and reports typically on the computer
  • Checks information for accuracy
  • Prepares and balances data
  • Answers department phones as needed and routes to appropriate area
  • Reviews information/data and makes decisions within well-defined guidelines, parameters, and instruction
  • Examines and prioritizes documents to determine work to be completed or best course of action
  • Collects information for specific department reports
  • Creates and maintains complex reports
  • Sorts, files and maintains invoices, receipts, contracts, or other special department documents
  • Compiles minor statistical data
  • Makes and checks routine one and two step math calculations
  • Completes keyboarding projects such as preparing correspondence and mailings
  • Checks own work for accuracy
  • Coordinates special programs and/or events

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Reading, writing, math and communication skills at a proficient level
  • Ability to follow verbal or written instruction
  • Keyboarding proficiency
  • Math skills at a proficient level
  • Computer skills: word processing and/or spreadsheet

Physical Environment

  • Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
  • Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
  • Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
  • Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
