As Product Owner, you will be an active member of the Agile Product Team responsible for owning, maintaining, and prioritizing product backlogs. This role will collaborate with the Scrum Master, development team, and business stakeholders to develop iterative roadmaps and decompose the product vision into features and stories aligned with market analytic needs. The Product Owner is empowered by the business to make decisions to assure the delivery of product value through incremental development cycles. Additionally, the Product Owner is responsible for streamlining the execution of Scrum team priorities while maintaining the vision and integrity of features and stories on behalf of the business. As Product Owner, you will enforce quality controls, determine visual representation of data elements meet client expectations and be solely responsible in accepting stories as done.

A Product Owner is the critical "translator" and "facilitator" between business teams (Product, Operations, Client Services, Clinical) and technology teams (Data Engineering, Data Scientists). This role is all about collaboration and communication to drive clear, structured product requirements through successful communication and documentation disciplines.

This role will be the voice of the Product Team and work with multiple matrix partners. This role requires strong analytical skills, data structures, the ability to build cross-functional relationships, and a desire to quickly develop deep subject matter expertise in the business services and customer perspectives. Working in an agile environment, this position nimbly partners across operational, clinical, client management, and functional areas of the company to define requirements and drive to value-based analytic tools, dashboards, and quality metrics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Product Strategy, Operations, Client Services and Data Engineering teams to ensure Customer data needs are met in a manner that enables a measurable positive experience or outcome
  • Elicit business requirements from stakeholders; document business requirements; identify problems that need to be solved; understand stakeholder pain points, and any roadblocks to growth
  • Proactively communicate with business stakeholders to bring alignment and awareness to the product backlog, adjust priorities where necessary, and ensure the business teams can prepare for and participate in feature releases that have operational impact
  • Develop strong working knowledge of the industry, client, and key stakeholder trends; leverage this information to support the continuous improvement of business services with custom built solutions or integrations
  • Author features and stories aligned with product vision and business objectives
  • Work closely with solutions architects, data architects, and broader development resources to jointly design and define solutions
  • Represent the voice of the business to development teams, groom Product backlog, prioritize features, manage acceptance criteria, participate in daily scrum activities, and maximize Product value, participate in sprint / PI planning, and coordinate deliverable demonstrations to stakeholders
  • Understand data privacy and government regulations

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of related business analysis or business intelligence development experience, 1 years of which must be in Healthcare Services and/or Specialty Pharmacy Services
  • 2+ years of experience writing features/user stories, requirements, testing and collaborating with Development/Engineering teams
  • 2+ years working knowledge of system development life cycle concepts and Agile methodology
  • Experienced translating operational and client requirements to data engineers, data scientists, or database analysts
  • Data warehouse and data mart experience
  • Experience achieving goals in a matrix environment, working collaboratively to influence others
  • Experience developing and delivering formal presentations, including organized visuals, for stakeholders
  • Experience translating business processes and into analytical solutions
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint, and an ability to easily learn and adopt new technology tools
  • Experience using an Agile development platform such as Rally or Jira (or similar platform) to manage development backlogs
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency using Visio
  • Agile/Scrum certification
  • Business Analysis experience
  • Data architecture experience

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
