OverviewFairview Health Services is looking for a Patient Representative for the Flex Workforce based out of the Fairview Eden Prairie in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. This position is approved for 48 hours every two weeks and is benefit eligible. The locations you will be asked to travel to include: Eden Prairie, Prior Lake, Edina, and Uptown.Responsibilities/Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for creating the first impression of Fairviews services to patients, families, and other external customers by providing superior service with their interactions. (i.e. Create a welcoming atmosphere to all clinic guests). To ensure high quality care, and as a member of the care team, the patient representative supports quality patient- and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The patient representative will continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.This Patient Representative position supports the Flex Workforce. Flex workforce employees regularly travel to multiple clinics to fill open shifts and regular travel is defined as the expectation to be available to travel 100% at any time to different locations based on the business needs. The length of the assignment at a location will vary based on need (i.e. 1 day for ill call or an extended period of time), which includes the expectation to travel to more than one clinic during the day at a moments notice. The nature of travel expectations (100%) and schedule expectations (unpredictable) provide a clear distinction between flex workforce employees and the expectations for travel (none or occasionally) and schedules (predictable) for other employees.Provide superior customer service, in person and on the phone to all customersSchedule and maintains patient appointments.Patient registration and check in processEnsure appropriate communication utilizing appropriate systems for documentation.As a member of the care team, continuously improve work processes, environment and the overall experience to serve customers and meet business goalsQualificationsRequired QualificationsOne year previous healthcare and/or customer service experiencePreferred QualificationsVocational/Technical TrainingTwo years scheduling patient appointments and/or registering patient information with knowledge of insurance in a practice management system or equivalent combinations of education and on year experienceOther Required SkillsDemonstrated focus on customer service/patient service with every interactionExcellent public relations and communication skillsAbility to work as an effective team member to provide exceptional careGood telephone and computer skillsMust be flexible to work various shifts and locations as requiredAbility to use appropriate computer applicationsAbility to work independently, demonstrate critical thinking skills and engage in ongoing process improvementDesired SkillsKnowledge of medical terminologyNeed help finding the right job?We can recommend jobs specifically for you!Fairview Health Services (fairview.org) is an award-winning, nonprofit health system providing exceptional care across the full spectrum of health care services.
