The Travelers Internship Program provides qualified students an excellent paid opportunity to gain first-hand business experience, receive valuable on-the-job training, and take a 10 week journey for Summer 2020 to discover if one of the many roles in the insurance industry including the growing field of leveraging geospatial within business intelligence, is right for you. This position provides exposure to a wide variety of GIS datasets, offering a challenging experience to work on alongside experienced analytics teams to see the GIS data put into action. Your best in class experience is managed by the Business Intelligence & Geospatial Program Office which will assign a Mentor, Peer Advisor, and a training curriculum that focuses on business acumen and technical awareness. The BIG program also offers a number of summer events designed to socialize you to Travelers, the Business Intelligence & Analytics Community, and your intern cohort by including speaker series, discussion roundtables, presentations, & networking events. Minimum qualifications Coursework from an accredited college or university with major focus in: Geography or Geographic Information Systems/Science, (GIS) 2 years of schooling with GIS principles in a college setting Experience with the ESRI ArcGIS suite of software products 10.x is required Proficiency in Python strongly preferred Ability to build a SQL data query is preferred Legally authorized to work in the U.S without the need for future sponsorship This 10-12 week paid position begins: 6/2/2020 with a location in our St. Paul, MN Office Next steps: Visit travelers.com/careers Click on Job Search Search for Geospatial Intern
