Membership Services Specialist - PTS
Position Profile
Status: Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal (PTS)
Salary: Starts at $14 per hour
Location: Community Center
Hours: Position hours are 9:00am-1:00pm, Monday-Friday, in the office. Building Hours (5:30am-10pm) Monday-Sunday; up to 20 hours per week.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Community Center Manager
Community Center Division
The Community Center Division of the Parks and Recreation Department has the responsibility for managing the Eden Prairie Community Center, City beaches and the rental of park facilities. Team members provide a variety of affordable recreation programs and services for all ages and abilities.

Position Details
The Membership Services Specialist position supports Community Center operations by assisting current and prospective members, overseeing membership data entry and processing, and providing overall customer service. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:

  • Ensures membership revenue is accurate by performing data entry, auditing accounts, and collections.

  • Assists internal and external Community Center customers with questions related to membership; assists with other administrative tasks as requested.

  • Provides excellent customer service to customers and employees of the Community Center, both in-person, on the phone and through email.

  • Provides general administrative support including word processing, data entry, filing, and record management.

  • Works in a cross functional environment along with the Accounting Representative and the Accounting Specialist.


    While these areas are the primary focus of the position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees may be called upon to perform a variety of duties in their roles with the City.

    Position Requirements
    Education: Associates or two-year degree in business-related field preferred.

    Work Experience: Two years of administrative and/or customer service experience required.

    Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook); experience using software for registration, membership management and point of sales preferred. Experience in Rec Trac software preferable.

    Organization: Ability to coordinate several activities, responsibilities, and tasks simultaneously in a polite and professional manner; prioritizes what needs to get done; keeps things neat and orderly; utilizes tools for efficiency; factors several considerations when planning; establishes methods to ensure routine tasks are completed.

    Collaboration: Ability to work in a cross functional work environment as part of a team; approach challenges and daily work with a positive attitude; embrace a teamwork approach; be open to feedback and partnering with team members; build and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers.

    Pre-employment Process
    The City of Eden Prairie conducts professional reference and criminal history checks for all employees joining the organization. All final candidates must successfully complete and pass the pre-employment process before their first day of employment.
