Description School Bus Transportation Manager Location:
Burnsville, MN Contract: Burnsville Public Schools Pay: $90,000 -
$105,000 Bonus Schmitty & Sons is seeking an experienced and
motivated School Bus Transportation Manager to lead daily
operations for our Burnsville Public Schools transportation
contract. This is a key leadership role responsible for safety,
service excellence, and team success in a mission-driven
environment that supports students and families every day. If you

positive operations—we’d love to hear from you. What You’ll Do As
Transportation Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations
and supervision of the school bus transportation team, ensuring
reliable service and a strong safety culture. Key Responsibilities
Include: Ensure the safety of passengers, employees, and overall
operations Foster a positive, respectful, and equitable work
environment that supports professional growth Directly or
indirectly manage all transportation personnel (excluding shop
employees) Plan and conduct monthly safety meetings Maintain
effective and professional communication with Burnsville schools
personnel and other key contacts Ensure full contractual compliance
with the school district Stay current on all applicable local,
state, and federal transportation regulations Respond to and
investigate equipment failures, delays, incidents, and accidents
Ensure staffing levels meet contract requirements Coach and counsel
drivers on procedures, performance, and behavior Maintain
compliance with safety-sensitive function requirements Assist with
dispatching and route coverage as needed Perform other duties as
assigned What We’re Looking For Qualifications: Previous management
or supervisory experience Transportation industry experience
preferred Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to
lead with professionalism, fairness, and accountability Licensing &
Physical Requirements: Ability to obtain a Class B CDL with air
brake, passenger, and school bus endorsements within 90 days of
hire Ability to pass a DOT physical and maintain a valid medical
