Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm)The experienced and dynamic Paralegal/Legal Services Consultant will support the Data Governance, Technology and Digital Health Legal Team ("Legal Team") led by Optum's Chief Data Governance Officer. This Legal Team's strategic counselors practice at the heart of innovation providing expertise and counsel tackling some of the most novel areas of the law. As a member of this Legal Team, you will be helping to advance Optum's missions and initiative to build a healthier world.You'll enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid working arrangement from any flagship office of Optum in the U.S. -(New York, Boston, Washington DC or Eden Prairie, MN) as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Research and analyze statutes, regulations, judicial decisions, and other legal sources on topics including TCPA, FDA, etc. as applicable to the Legal team's efforts -
  • Draft for Legal Team review contracts (termination notices, amendments, summaries, etc.) -
  • Collaborating with members of the Legal Team and other enterprise stakeholders draft and maintain key internal policies
  • Assist Legal Team with managing critical legal documents (contracts, legal advice, etc.), communications and files -
  • Help draft and administer internal procedures, policies, and guidance documents
  • Establish and/or conduct initial screening or intake process(es) to streamline inquiries, assessments, and reviews on TCPA, medical device, marketing and promotional materials, and other matters
  • Assist with tracking, monitoring, and reporting of metrics as needed
  • Provide day-to-day paralegal and legal services support and lead or assist on special projects from the Legal Team
  • Assist Legal Team with the creation and preparation of meeting materials, presentations, PowerPoints, trainings, and other documentations
  • Keep up -to -date with the latest health care (e.g., Medicare, Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, digital health), consumer protection, technology, FDA, data governance, artificial intelligence, advertising laws and other areas of law identified from time to time and regularly report out to the Legal Team on applicable developments. Contribute articles to LCRA regularly on topics of interestYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications: -
