It's an opportunity to do your life's best work.(sm)Our team provides Analytic Application development and support for Optum Payment Integrity.We provide data analytic development services that identify overpayments or recoveries for Data Mining, Coordination of Benefits (COB), Fraud Waste Abuse and Error (FWAE), and Subrogation.Our Senior Analytic Developer position will develop new analytics, enhance existing analytics, perform research and adhoc requests, as well as maintain and improve the efficiencies of the broader applications that execute these analytics.Currently most analytics are written in SAS executing in a UNIX grid environment, but the team is transforming these analytics to leverage big data and cloud technologies like Python, Scala, and Azure in the future.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:Provide realistic effort estimates and project timelines for development and support projectsInterpret business requirements and functional specifications and create technical design and technical specifications documentsDevelop SAS processes following existing standard structures and macros.Develop for a production environmentConduct data extraction and research studies that may include analyzing, reviewing, trending, and presenting information, based on provided specifications, to support adhoc data requestWork with business engagement leaders and technical analysts to develop new and modify existing process documentation and templatesConduct analyses of data elements within existing source data mart schemasAnalyze healthcare claims from different data sources and identify data integrity issuesPerform unit, system and regression testing for SAS programs for quality assurancePerformance tuning of existing applications and analyticsGuide and advise developers to identify and improve the efficiency of current programming practicesContribute to knowledge sharing, ideas and information relating to technologies and be a key technical expert within the teamLead/Mentor new and existing team membersEnhance skills in big data and cloud technologies for the futureContinually identify deficiencies in production processes, propose enhancements, and implement those enhancements to increase productivity or reduce manual effortYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:3+ years SAS experience 1+ years SQL Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent SAS Grid ExperiencePython, Scala, Azure ExperienceRelational Database experience - Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, DB2Experience working with Healthcare DataExperience working with large volume data and coding efficienciesData Analysis experience Functional Testing experience Solid analysis, process, problem solving and critical thinking skillsTo protect the health and safety of our workforce, patients and communities we serve, UnitedHealth Group and its affiliate companies require all employees to disclose COVID-19 vaccination status prior to beginning employment. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
