Job Description RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to work from our Engineering Center in Eden Prairie, MN. As a part of the team, qualified candidates will work on development efforts for complex products in the off-highway mobile equipment industry. We are now allowing employees up to 50% work-from-home when projects allow. This position is associated with the design and development of embedded software that controls machine and vehicle operations and functions. Development methods often include C, C++ or Simulink MBSD. Testing methods include bench testing, vehicle simulators, and full machine testing. Job responsibilities include: Develop applications and architecture to meet needs of specific clients Work with less experienced team members to mentor, review code, clarify goals and strategies for implementing solutions to meet requirements Integration of software in a multi-developer team using Continuous Integration process. Participate in the Agile development process Troubleshooting and debugging using engineering software and hardware tools Creation and maintenance of software design documentation Requirements Bachelor's or Master's of Science degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or related 5 years of relevant experience Significant embedded programming expertise in one or more areas including C, C++, or Simulink MBSD Knowledge of common software development tools such as VisualBasic, Previous experience in a structured software development process Ability to interpret and create software requirements and state diagrams Ability to interpret hardware schematics for wiring and electronic controllers Experience with CAN interface tools, debuggers and other common diagnostic tools Strong verbal and written communication skills General machine knowledge of industrial equipment or machinery Desired Attributes Experience with CAN J1939 communication protocol Experience with Rally or Jira software tracking tools or similar tools Experience with CAN interface tools or similar tools About RFA Engineering RFA Engineering has provided design, product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
