Description & Requirements Computed Tomography Technologist - (CT
Tech) StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8/10/12 N Pay Rate:
$3071.00 - $3164.00 This night shift CT Technologist position with
backup X-ray responsibilities is based in a dedicated children’s
hospital environment in Minneapolis, Minnesota. You will join a
highly skilled pediatric imaging team that supports a full spectrum
of specialties, including emergency medicine, trauma, surgery,
cardiology, neurology, oncology, and critical care. Minneapolis is
consistently recognized as one of the most livable cities in the
United States, offering an exceptional balance of urban energy and
natural beauty. The city is known for its thriving arts and music
scene, nationally acclaimed theaters and museums, craft food and
brewery culture, and a calendar full of year-round festivals and
events. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy an extensive network of lakes,
rivers, parks, and trails, with opportunities for biking, running,
kayaking, and cross-country skiing right in the metro area. The
region boasts excellent schools, welcoming neighborhoods, and a
strong emphasis on health, wellness, and community engagement,
making it an appealing location for professionals at any stage of
their career. Within the children’s hospital setting, you will work
in a modern imaging department that supports complex pediatric
care, including trauma, surgical, and critical care services. The
facility features advanced CT technology designed to optimize image
quality while minimizing radiation exposure, especially important
for a growing pediatric population. Sophisticated PACS and EMR
systems support efficient workflows and close collaboration with
radiologists and the broader care team. On the night shift, you
will provide high-quality CT imaging for pediatric inpatients,
emergency department patients, trauma activations, and critical
care units. Your responsibilities will include performing routine
and emergent CT exams, with a focus on rapid, accurate imaging for
acute conditions such as trauma, respiratory distress, neurological
changes, and postoperative complications. You will also serve as
backup for general diagnostic X-ray, supporting the emergency
department, operating rooms, and inpatient units as needed. A
typical night may include performing a mix of head, chest, abdomen,
pelvis, spine, and extremity CT studies, along with portable and
department-based X-ray exams. You will follow established pediatric
protocols, work closely with radiologists to tailor imaging to the
clinical question, and apply pediatric-specific dose reduction
strategies. You will also assist with patient preparation, IV
access coordination, contrast administration workflows, and
collaborate with nursing, anesthesia, and child life specialists to
ensure a safe and comfortable experience for each child. Patient
volumes vary based on season and acuity, but the department is
structured to maintain safe, manageable workloads on nights. You
can expect to work independently while having access to on-call or
in-house radiologist support, as well as strong collaboration with
emergency and critical care teams. The environment emphasizes
teamwork, communication, and family-centered care, with a focus on
treating every child and family with respect and compassion. Night
shift scheduling typically includes 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts
depending on department structure, with rotating weekends and
holidays as required to support 24/7 pediatric trauma and emergency
services. Cross-training and ongoing education are encouraged,
creating opportunities to refine your pediatric CT expertise,
enhance your X-ray skills, and participate in quality or safety
initiatives that impact care across the hospital. This role is an
excellent fit for CT Technologists who are passionate about
pediatric care, enjoy the unique challenge of night shift work in
an acute setting, and want to contribute in a meaningful way to a
high-acuity, mission-driven environment. The combination of a
top-tier children’s hospital, a collaborative and supportive team
culture, and the high quality of life in Minneapolis makes this an
outstanding opportunity for professional growth and personal
fulfillment. Required Qualifications CT Technologist, Computed
