Job Description Pharmacist Salary- $130,000-$140,000/yr DOE.
Open to recent grads and new Pharmacists! Position Summary The
Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and
efficient dispensing of medications in a closed-door long-term care
pharmacy environment. This role oversees prescription verification,
compounding activities, and daily pharmacy operations while
supporting high standards of patient care, regulatory compliance,
and customer service. The Pharmacist collaborates closely with
pharmacy staff, nursing facility partners, physicians, and
leadership to support operational efficiency, quality improvement,
and positive clinical outcomes. Key Responsibilities Prescription
Review & Dispensing Review prescriptions issued by physicians or
other authorized prescribers to ensure accuracy, appropriateness,
and completeness. Verify medication orders and oversee the intake
and fulfillment of prescriptions in a timely and efficient manner.
Dispense medications in compliance with state and federal
regulations. Provide medication consultation and clinical support
to nursing facility staff, including guidance on prescription and
over-the-counter medications. Advise prescribers on medication
therapy, interactions, and utilization management as appropriate.
Compounding & Production Oversight Compound sterile and non-sterile
medications using established formulas and procedures, including
weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients. Direct and supervise
pharmacy staff involved in compounding, packaging, labeling, and
order changes. Maintain accountability for the accuracy and
completion of all pharmacy production duties and branch goals.
Operational & Team Leadership Manage day-to-day pharmacy operations
in a closed-door long-term care setting. Assist in the development,
oversight, and monitoring of pharmacy services aligned with
organizational policies, goals, and objectives. Promote an
efficient work environment that supports staff retention,
engagement, and quality outcomes. Support after-hours, weekend, and
holiday pharmacy needs through an on-call rotation. Quality,
Compliance & Continuous Improvement Establish and maintain
appropriate storage, security, and record-keeping systems for
pharmaceuticals. Assist in the development and implementation of
quality improvement initiatives focused on prescription accuracy
and service excellence. Promote open communication across pharmacy
teams and with external partners to enhance service delivery and
performance. Support pharmacy staff education, training,
evaluation, and professional development. Educate staff on
utilization management concepts and pharmacy operational best
practices. Customer & Facility Relations Maintain positive
relationships with physicians, nursing staff, residents, and
facility administrators. Serve as a pharmacy resource for
consulting issues, clinical questions, and service concerns. Ensure
effective communication and information flow between internal teams
and external customers. Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
or Bachelor of Pharmacy (BS Pharm) from an accredited institution
Active pharmacist license in good standing (state-specific)
Experience in long-term care, institutional, or closed-door
pharmacy preferred Knowledge of sterile and non-sterile compounding
practices Strong leadership, communication, and organizational
skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
in a fast-paced environment Work Environment Closed-door long-term
