Job Title: Division Chief of Acute Care Critical Care Surgery
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Acute
Care/Critical Care Surgeon to serve as the Division Chief at the
University of Minnesota. The successful candidate will possess not
only a strong clinical background but also a distinguished academic
profile, holding the rank of Professor with tenure and
demonstrating a robust portfolio of NIH funding.
Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Administration:
* Provide visionary leadership to the Acute Care Critical Care
Surgery Division.
* Foster a collaborative and innovative environment within the
division.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient and
high-quality patient care.
* Collaborate with other departmental leaders to achieve
organizational goals.
2. Clinical Expertise:
* Demonstrate excellence in the practice of Acute Care and Critical
Care Surgery.
* Lead and contribute to the advancement of clinical protocols and
best practices.
* Actively participate in patient care, ensuring the highest
standards of safety and quality.
3. Teaching and Mentorship:
* Participate in the education and training of medical students,
residents, and fellows.
* Serve as a mentor to junior faculty, guiding their academic and
clinical development.
4. Research and Academic Achievement:
* Maintain a distinguished academic record, holding the rank of
Professor with tenure.
* Lead and contribute to cutting-edge research in Acute Care
Critical Care Surgery.
* Demonstrate a successful history of obtaining NIH funding and
managing research projects.
5. Community Engagement:
* Actively engage with the local and regional medical community to
enhance collaborative opportunities to include clinical care,
quality efforts, research efforts, and education.
* Represent the institution at national and international
conferences and events.
* Contribute to community education and outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
1. Medical Degree (MD or DO)
2. Board Certification in Surgery and Critical Care
3. Eligibility for Medical Licensure in the State
4. Academic Qualifications: Rank of Professor with Tenure
5. Proven Track Record of NIH Funding
6. Extensive Clinical Experience in Acute Care Critical Care
Surgery
7. Strong Leadership and Administrative Skills
8. Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills
