REPORTS TO: Rick Selvey- company owner, or Jacque Saul, Director of CareCOMPANY OVERVIEW: Since 1996, Always Best Care has helped families with nonmedical in-home care and assisted living placement services along with skilled home health care. Always Best Care clients receive extraordinary care in an inspiring environment with caring people. Our Care Coordinators have worked with more than 25,000 seniors across the country. We hire employees who are inherently courteous and polite, and treat all clients with the highest level of respect and professionalism.PORTRAIT OF AN ABC CAREGIVER: * Compassionate * Excellent communication skills * Heart for working with seniors * Enjoys assisting with the daily activities of patient living and carePRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:* Provides daily routine care such as bathing, dressing and feeding * Tidys rooms and makes patient beds/changes linens * Answers patient's phone calls * Converses with patients to provide assurance and create trust * Observes Universal Precautions (safety of worker and client) * Provides patient transportation to Dr. appointments, outside activities and shopping * Works towards goals for ILS/IHFS clientele * Light housekeeping and laundry * Provides medication reminders * Meal preparation and clean-upCAREGIVER REQUIREMENTS:* State CNA certification / CHHA certification preferred but not required * PCA certification through the State of MN * High school diploma or GED * Valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation * Exceptional interpersonal skills * Candidates must be authorized to work in the United StatesWORK SCHEDULE: Varies depending on patient needs and employee hourly restrictions. A set weekly schedule is best for everyone. COMPENSATION: $13/hour to $17/hour depending on the work experience and care assignment.Levels of Care The level of care for the individual clientele is determined by collaboration between the client and client's case manager. These are usually waivered programs through the state. The client cannot change their allotted level or amount of care without approval through their case manager. If there are issues or questions, Rick and Jacque will coordinate with the case manager. Homemaking: Clean and tidy the client home using light housekeeping skills. A list with client requests will be in the client binder that stays in the home. These services often include: Light housekeeping duties, help with laundry, grocery shopping/errands, appointments (10-mile radius), some pet help, and maintaining home to a safe level for our clients. Homemaking clients have a 40-50 mile monthly transportation limit. Documenting/initialing the daily checklists is required. Homemaking with Cares: Same as above but with added in daily client cares including but not limited to: help dressing, bathing, meal prep, wrapping legs, etc. We are NONMEDICAL and do NOT have a RN on staff so we do not lift clientele, transfer them, or perform wound dressing changes, clip toenails, etc. ILS/ICLS (245D License) - Independent Living Skills Goal oriented service in which we work towards the clients listed goals (these will be found in the client binder left in the client home. Goals are to be met over a years time and need to be done at the client's pace. Clients are mentally or physically disabled and are all very diverse in their needs. ILS/ICLS clientele have a l50-200 mile monthly transportation limit so we can fulfill their goals. Documenting progress/lack thereof is also required. Examples of goals include but are not limited to: budgeting, learning how to perform basic household tasks, socializing, filling out paperwork, organizing, getting out into the community, etc. IHFS (245D License) - In-Home Family Support Similar to ILS/ICLS, however the client usually lives with others (Usually family). This is usually meant to give family a break, but is very similar in foundation to the ILS/ICLS services. See the description for ILS/ICLS services above. The clients here are generally younger mentally/physically disabled. Same transportation limit and goal needs apply. Documentation is also required.
