Join us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) As Associate Director of Quality & Testing for the United Healthcare Strategic Platform (USP) Configuration Team, you will help shape best practices to improve department quality and support enterprise platform growth. In this role you'll drive strategic quality initiatives and drive process improvement, both within the department and across USP. You will also be responsible for team testing activities, supporting implementation teams as they define, manage, and deliver system configuration. You'll diagnose process improvement opportunities and develop solutions using principles of process excellence and related tools. As one of Configuration's key managers, you'll oversee the daily operations of a team of Testing Analysts. You'll set team direction, resolve problems, and provide guidance to members of the team to ensure program milestones and delivery expectations are continuously met. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Provides thought leadership, resolves problems, and develops members of the Configuration Quality & Testing Team Aligns the work of the team to the goals and timelines of various configuration projects and USP Roadmap priorities. Articulates a logical, iterative approach to delivering against the plan Owns strategic level initiatives to improve quality in response to new department technology and tools. Manages plans to support continuous quality improvement using applicable tools Identifies areas for process improvement and actively drives solutions to help ensure the continued development of team operations and best practices Provides subject matter expertise in areas including quality assurance, internal audits testing, risk/exposure identification, root cause, and reporting while ensuring team initiatives are completed on time and in scope Applies healthcare industry business knowledge while coordinating activities across a highly matrixed team of professionals involved in a common purpose to serve our customers Establishes, develops, and maintains effective relationships with applicable stakeholders (e.g., project team members, internal customers, functional SMEs, business partners, leadership) Conducts regular meetings with relevant internal and/or external stakeholders to review and discuss updates and outstanding issues Reviews work performed by others and provide recommendations for improvement You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience 7 years of experience managing quality and/or testing programs 5 years of experience leading people and teams Prior experience with benefit intent certification and/or other quality certification tools and programs Experience developing and presenting data-driven presentations to stakeholders and various levels of leadership Experience partnering with stakeholders to ensure the proper strategy, plan, alignment, integration, and visibility Proven track record of implementing successful quality programs within the healthcare space Ability to travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications: Experience in system configuration for a healthcare administration platform Experience working with Agile methodology Operational experience within multiple lines of business (E&I, M&R, C&S and/or Provider) Familiarity with UHC commercial products and benefits Thought leader; creates and shares a compelling vision for program execution; takes accountability for decisions, actions and results for self and others; leads and manages change; strategic thinker Excellent verbal and written communication skills focusing on conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand Ability to understand and interpret complex information from others coupled with strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and proactively manage a portfolio of projects while broadly applying a prioritization framework Careers with UnitedHealthcare. California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York City, or Washington residents is $101,200 to $184,000.
