As a Senior Product Manager within Prospective risk and quality services portfolio, you will be vital to our success and drive the future growth. You will work with Product Directors, Product Managers and various stakeholders (internal/external) to gather market requirements, align to strategic objectives and lead development activities. You will join an elite team of product managers to lead large projects and play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing products.

Position in this function manages a specific good or service available externally on the market that can be sold stand-alone, and that directly generates revenue. Responsible for the full product lifecycle management, including: strategy, design, development, management and end of life of new, existing or acquisition products. Leverage market insights to understand market/customer needs to identify new opportunities or make adjustments to current product offerings. Accountable for delivering product performance against expectations and updates changes to a product portfolio to improve competitive position, and optimal product performance to meet customer and market needs. Accountable to and/or own the P&L. Partner with internal or external stakeholders (key customers, product partnerships, etc.) to define and drive future product direction.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, development and management of new and existing products in Prospective products portfolio
  • Align product vision with larger portfolio strategy, develop business case, and manage capital request and spend
  • Gather, manage and prioritize market/customer requirements in to tactical and strategic roadmaps
  • Synthesize business requirements into a coherent, solution agnostic depiction that business and technical teams can understand
  • Support expansion of Member solutions in Prospective Services portfolio
  • Work with internal/external business constituents to determine product features
  • Review/manage product performance, define product enhancements and engage with product owners to execute the launch
  • Predict emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them. Solve unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business
  • Develop short term and long term product roadmaps
  • Demonstrate understanding of cross-functional requirements and impact
  • Manages and is accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors
  • Impact of work is most often at the local level

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelors degree
    • 3+ years of experience in healthcare
    • 3+ years of experience working in product management, product development, or product analysis
    • 2+ years of experience in Agile software development approach
    • 2+ years of experience defining and managing product roadmaps
    • 2+ years of experience in presenting to and engaging and large teams (20+ each) across the organization
    • Solid understanding of Risk Adjustment based products
    • Solid understanding of Quality (HEDIS/STARS) based products
    • Understanding of clinical datasets (claims/CCD/lab/pharmacy) and impact to risk adjustment and quality services

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Masters degree
      • Experience with Product Management frameworks, such as Pragmatic Marketing, 280 Group or others
      • Knowledge of member engagement products/services
      • Knowledge of member intervention strategies across Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA lines of business
      • Understanding of provider/physician workflows and engagement strategies
      • Ability to work collaboratively to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
      • Excellent presentation and articulation skills with ability to achieve goals in a matrix environment
      • Demonstrated success in defining and launching products that meet and exceed business objectives

        Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
