It's an opportunity to do your life's best work.(sm)The Underwriting Manager will develop and implement departmental procedures and maintain high quality standards to ensure Underwriting efficiencies. This individual will develop departmental control expenses within the budget and oversee the assignment of underwriting authority to their reports. They will establish controls to monitor ability to accept risks and determine pricing. The Underwriting Manager will establish audit and monitoring procedures to ensure adequate review of underwriting files.You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

• Managing a competent and motivated staff of underwriters
• Training and development team
• Monitoring performance and providing overall guidance

  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Finance or related degree
  • 5+ years' experience with healthcare underwriting for any variety of products: PPO, HMO, self-funded, ASO/fully insured, group or individual
  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint. Ability to create pivot tables in ExcelPreferred Qualification:
    • Stop Loss experience
    • Superior oral and written communication skills
    • Organized, detail oriented and able to translate big picture ideas into client objectives

The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600.
