well-being of each individual we serve.OBJECTIVE: The Director of
Resident Well-Being and Engagement provides expertise, support and
training to social services, psychosocial and life enrichment
personnel, resulting in regulatory compliance and ultimately the
delivery of exceptional patient care.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:--- Serve
as Clinical Consultant for all Social Service and Therapeutic
Recreation/Life Enrichment employees in Long-term care, Assisted
Living, and Comprehensive Home Care, with occasional consulting
support to PACE programs.
--- Provide support to specialty areas of social services, resident
engagement, behavioral management, Dementia care, spiritual care,
volunteers and admissions.
--- Researches, creates, designs and evaluates programs that
provide social, emotional, intellectual, spiritual, physical,
service and financial challenges for facility residents.
--- Participates, collaborates or leads projects to assist with
resident services and/or advocacy.
--- Provides consultation in the areas of:
--- Develops and maintains standardized Volunteers of America
National Services (VOANS) policies and procedures that assist
facilities in functioning at optimum levels to maintain regulatory
compliance
--- Develops and provides training, workshops and webinars to
various staff at different levels in the organization to provide
on-going education.
--- Provides on-boarding training and support to VOANS social
workers and life enrichment positions
--- Provides resources, updates and survey support to the
facilities related to psychosocial and life enrichment needs of the
resident
--- Assist as needed with follow through of referred problems or
psychosocial needs of residents.
--- Participate in audits and mock surveys as requested.
--- Provide consultation of staffing and budgets of social service
and life enrichment departments
--- Assist in negotiating contracts for psychosocial services.
--- Assist in the Treatment in Place Program development and
practices as requested
--- Attends conferences and workshops to keep current in profession
and developing fields
--- Prepares special reports as requested.
--- Coordinates the use of the IN2L (It's Never 2 Late) system and
training the Life Enrichment staff on the use.
--- Maintains resident confidence and protects operations by
keeping information confidential.
--- Develop and promote positive public relations and community
resources through area and state contacts.Job
Requirements:QUALIFICATIONS: --- Must be a Licensed Social Worker
and have a degree in social work or related services; licensed
where applicable by the state; state requirements may dictate
supervision and degree type.
--- At least 5 years of experience in post-acute care settings,
prefer at least 2 years in post-acute care part of which is a
multi-site role.
--- Knowledge of post-acute healthcare and public health settings;
familiarity with Federal and State regulations and requirements for
post-acute care.
--- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
--- Able to understand and follow procedures, work assignments,
instructions and prepare reports and documentation.
--- Ability to understand a variety or concepts/approaches and
perform several job functions at once.
--- Works well independently with minimal supervision.
--- Ability to apply principles of personnel administration to
interviewing, selection and monitoring of various care settings
programs.
--- Negotiation skills and ability to carry on several levels of
reasoning at once during times when problem solving is required;
ability to think quickly and to review contracts and write complex
communications.
--- Must possess a high level of flexibility and tolerance to
adjust to changes in workloads, assignments, hours and days (i.e.,
weekends, evenings, holidays, etc.)
--- Ability to travel and commit the time and energy necessary to
be successful in what may not be a 40-hour work week environment.
