Join us and help people live healthier lives while doing your life's best work.(sm)Reporting to the VP of EMR Strategy and Relations, the Director, Workflow Design and Change Management is responsible for understanding the requirements of the business to integrate business strategy into the providers workflow, assess and implement optimization improvements across all care delivery organizations (CDOs), ensure adoption with measurable outcomes, and create change management planning and executions strategies across CDOs. - You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the CDOs and provider experience executives to understand the areas where key OptumCare processes need to be integrated into the workflow of the provider/patient experience, -across owned, dedicated, and contracted providers
  • Lead (along with other partners) efforts to assess and implement improvement initiatives at local CDOs and at the national OptumCare level
  • Standup and maintain a process for constant feedback loops between OptumCare and local CDOs
  • Create a consistent repeatable process for ensuring workflow improvement at CDOs, especially as OptumCare grows
  • The role will rely on satisfaction outcomes from the VP of Satisfaction and NPS analytics to assist in recommending improvement opportunities that improve the performance of OptumCare's EMR network
  • The specific measures that this position will be accountable for improving (along with other colleagues in the organization) are workflow productivity improvement (for owned, dedicated, and contracted physicians) physician retention rates (for owned, dedicated, and contracted physicians), and patient satisfaction in numerous areas
  • Partner with counterparts across Optum and UHC to develop innovative visions that will lead the industry in world class workflow solutions and performance outcomes

    • 7+ years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry
    • 7+ years of workflow design, preferably in a healthcare setting
    • 7+ years of change management experience including communication, preferably in a healthcare setting
    • 7+ years of progressive experience with ownership of large/complex programs that are cross-functional and/or enterprise in scope and innovation focused
    • Proven people management and program management skills
    • Proven analytical skills
    • Solid collaboration skills and proven ability to influence leadership and teams to drive toward collective solutions
    • Ability to manage deliverables in a highly matrixed environment -
    • Demonstrated knowledge of the healthcare industry (preferably both inside of UHG and across many aspects of the external market) -
    • Demonstrated expertise in SharePoint, Project, Excel and other programs as needed
    • Ability to travel 25% of the time

      • Bachelor's degree in healthcare delivery, healthcare related field, IT, or change management
      • Prior clinical or revenue cycle experience
      • Experience with EMR's, specifically OptumCare's main systems (including Epic and Allscripts)
