Job Description:
Everyone wants fresh, tasty, and healthy food, and effective and
available medicines. Frequently these goods are harvested or
created far away from where they are consumed, across the country
or even across the world. Keeping them safe, environmentally
controlled, and secure while transporting them throughout their
journey is a complicated and complex problem, involving a
tremendous amount of computing power, sensors, radios, mobile
devices, IoT, cloud, and more.
At Emerson, we call this transportation system our Cold Chain,
stretching across the entire lifecycle of food and medicines. It
starts when food is harvested or vaccines manufactured, and goes
through the shipping of goods worldwide, all the way to your local
store shelves or doctor's office.
We do not produce, move, store, or sell food directly, but we serve
the businesses that do. Our team's mission each day is to 1)
efficiently keep food and medicines fresh and safe, 2) track each
step 3) make it easy for our customers, 4) and do it in the most
environmentally sustainable way possible. We believe if we do these
four things, and do them well, we can get food and medicines to
those who need them around the globe.
