Education - Bachelor's Degree - High School Diploma or GED Skills - HTML5 - Microsoft Office - Microsoft Access - Adobe Dreamweaver - Computer Skills Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and four years of related office experience. Training/education may be substituted for some of the years of experience. Computer experience (with MS Office applications including using mail merge) is required, as is the ability to develop strong proficiency in using new software, platforms, and tools. Preferred Qualifications: Four-year college degree, experience maintaining and managing an organization's website (ideally proficient with HTML coding, Dreamweaver, and Drupal), experience with developing and maintaining a MS Access database, experience with event planning management and logistics. Three-quarter time, 30 hours a week position (some schedule flexibility, but all work hours must be during regular office hours, so weekdays between 8am and 5pm) at the Charles Babbage Institute: Center for the History of Information Technology. Salary range: $30K to $37,500 depending on experience and qualifications. This position handles reception, recordkeeping (paper and digital), maintaining and upgrading the website, mail merge and mass mailings for fundraising, overseeing recordkeeping on donors, layout and editing the CBI Newletter, proofreading, data entry, helping to plan and managing logistics for meetings and events, and other administrative and administrative support tasks as assigned. Experience with standard office applications and very strong computer skills are required. Experience developing and/or managing an organization's website is strongly preferred (ability to learn to do this is requiredhandling UMN-mandated conversion to Drupal). Must work well with others, professionally interact with our wide range of stakeholders, and budget time and work well independently. Principal Responsibilities: Oversee reception, respond to basic inquiries, and as appropriate distribute mail and email to the Director and the Archivist-(5%) Maintain and create filing/recordkeeping systems, including in-house recordkeeping for fundraising as well as working with the University of Minnesota Foundation (paper, our network drive, databases)-(10%) Maintain the CBI Website and conversion necessary to meet UMN, College, and Univ. Libraries' requirements, once conversion is completed, more web work time will go to CBI social platform outreach-(35%) Edit and do layout for online/electronic CBI Newsletter-(10%) Process mass mailings (generally for fundraising, and thank you letters to donors)-(10%) Complete training and prepare basic financial transactions (purchasing, payments, fellowships, reimbursements, etc.) on UMN accounting platform, maintain office inventory and equipment-(10%) Help plan and oversee logistics for CBI events (catering, folders or registrants, etc.)-(10%) Engage in basic center level grant management tasks pre and post award-(5%) Other tasks as assigned-(5%) The Charles Babbage Institute (CBI) is an archives and research center dedicated to preserving the history of information technology and promoting and conducting research in the field.
