position available in our Eden Prairie, MN office. This person will
supporting construction engineering projects by managing financial
performance, providing detailed cost analysis, monitoring budgets,
and ensuring accurate reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
Position Overview The Project Controller supports construction
engineering projects by managing financial performance, providing
detailed cost analysis, monitoring budgets, and ensuring accurate
reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This position plays a
key role in project accounting, subcontractor oversight, change
management, revenue recognition, and cash flow optimization for
construction/ engineering projects. The Project Controller manages
project accountants and partners with accounting to ensure accurate
financial reporting. Key Responsibilities Project Financial
Management Supervise and provide guidance to project accountants to
ensure accurate project accounting Ensure revenue recognition is in
accordance with GAAP (percentage-of-completion, completed
contracts, support contracts and Cost Plus) Review monthly
effort-to-complete (ETC) and effort-at-completion (EAC) projections
Analyze percent-complete estimates for revenue recognition Analyze
labor, equipment and subcontractor variances and review with
project accountant for accuracy and corrective action Supervise and
provide guidance to project accountants to ensure sales tax
compliance Project Accounting Perform project accountant duties on
a limited basis Ensure proper project setup in ERP/project
management systems, including work breakdown structures (WBS), and
contract terms Review and validate subcontractor invoices, purchase
orders, material receipts, sales tax and progress billings within
each project structure Track committed costs and open purchase
orders to maintain accurate cost projections Billing, Revenue and
Compliance Evaluate Contract Assets and Contract Liability to
ensure all billable work is invoiced to the extent possible Review
Accounts Receivable to ensure accuracy, aging integrity and
effective follow-up on past due accounts Coordinate with project
accountants to collect supporting documentation (lien releases,
insurance certificates) Assist with compliance related to
retainage, bonding, and audit requests Cross functional Support
Working with project managers and project accountants to ensure
accurate project tracking and billing Working with procurement for
project POs issued Working with Financial Controller to ensure
accurate financial reporting Contribute to project closeout
processes by reconciling final costs, retainage, and outstanding
commitments Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree
in accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field 5
years of project accounting or financial control experience within
the construction/Engineering industry preferred Skills &
Competencies Strong knowledge of construction and professional
engineering services accounting and revenue recognition Proficient
in Excel; ability to analyze large datasets Understanding of
project delivery methods (lump sum, cost plus, and cost plus to a
max) Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management
Strong communication skills for collaborating with accounting
staff, project managers, and procurement Ability to manage multiple
large projects and meet strict deadlines Working Conditions

Range The expected salary rate is $110,000 to $115,000 base per
year depending on skillset and qualifications plus a discretionary
bonus and employee stock program. LI-WM1 LI-hybrid
