• Work Hours: Monday Friday, 8am-5pm
• Worksite Location: Eden Prairie, MN Accountant Job Description Entry Level Accountant will provide support and financial assistance to the Test and Simulation accounting processes and related business activities. This role is a hands-on accounting role and requires a keen eye for details, business knowledge of accounting and reporting. What an Accountant will be responsible for:
  • Actively participate in the month-end Service contract revenue close process, including scheduling and processing of revenue recognition programs, preparation and recording of journal entries, performance and analysis of SOX controls, and resolution of discrepancies
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of the relationship between the timing of revenue recognition and cost of sales, work in process inventory, deferred revenue, and unbilled receivables as it relates to Service contracts
  • Reconcile various balance sheet accounts related to Revenue Recognition, Payroll, and Intercompany
  • Participate in or initiate assignments to improve processes and/or quality in areas where the employee has basic, intermediate, or advanced familiarity
  • Utilize an understanding of the business, its products, its styles, its operational systems, and organization structure to complete assigned financial responsibilities
  • Support internal and external audits and reviews
  • Assist Payroll Administrator with work processes and procedures for Payroll to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing and payment of multi-state payroll and related deposits under Company benefit plans (e.g., ESPP, RSP, 401K, United fund). Ensures compliance with Company policies, along with federal and state regulations
  • Support the Payroll Administrator in the execution of the North American payroll in a timely manner in accordance with Company policy
  • Ensure the execution of all Canadian payroll related procedures including input, output, and taxes, as well as working with the outsource service provider
  • Manage time reporting data including review and analysis of on-line time sheet submissions and correction of errors to ensure accurate labor distribution
  • Assist Payroll Administrator in timely regulatory filings, including federal and state income tax withholding returns for all U.S. locations
  • Prepare journal entries for payroll transactions including correcting entries requiring judgment and interpretation What you ll bring to the Accountant position:
    • Bachelor s degree in accounting-related field
    • 2+ years of accounting experience
    • SOX Regulations knowledge
    • Must have Legal Right to work in USA
    • Advanced computer skills including MS Excel is preferred
    • Knowledge of SAP is preferred
